Japanese police have restricted access to Enshuhama Beach in the city of Hamamatsu in Japan’s Shizuoka Prefecture after a suspicious sphere about 1.5 meters in diameter was found on the shore, believed to be made of metal, media reported Tuesday.
The sphere was discovered by a local resident who called police at around 8:45 a.m. local time, Japanese television station “Daiichi TV” reported. Traffic in the area is strictly prohibited. Police surrounded the area and cordoned off a 200-meter radius, and the facility is currently being examined by experts who arrived at the site, the station reported. Also, according to the report, photos of the bullet/balloon were sent to the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and the Coast Guard.
