The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is actively working to restore and release videos of nuclear tests from the mid-20th century, and recently unveiled a new collection of footage, with one particularly disturbing example standing out.
According to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (NLLL) in the United States of America, an estimated 10,000 films of nuclear weapons testing were made between 1945 and 1962.
For the past several years, a team of LLNL researchers, led by physicist Greg Spriggs, has been dedicatedly collecting these recordings to scan, reanalyze and declassify them before the films are completely degraded.
