It’s not easy to be green…in fact, it is if you were born that way – MIRACLE IN SPAIN: A female hunting dog gave birth to two green puppies

A rare spectacle unfolded in the tranquil Spanish town of Laguna de Duero as a female hunting dog defied expectations by giving birth to a litter of five puppies, two of which emerged with an extraordinary trait: they were green.

Owner Aida Vallelado Molina expressed her astonishment, remarking, “When I first laid eyes on them, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

“At first, I thought they were covered in dirt, so I attempted to clean them. It wasn’t until later that I realized their fur was naturally green,” she added.

The emergence of these green-hued pups, however, came with a bittersweet twist. Despite their uniqueness, they appeared notably smaller and more delicate than their siblings. Tragically, one of the green pups, a female, succumbed to her fragile state, while the surviving male sibling struggles with his health.

Remarkably, the male pup’s verdant hue is beginning to fade, prompting speculation about the underlying cause of this rare phenomenon. Veterinarian Daniel Valverde, reflecting on the unusual occurrence, remarked that in his years of practice, he had never encountered such a phenomenon in Spain. Determined to unravel the mystery, he pledged to conduct thorough tests to shed light on the situation.

While this may be an unprecedented event in Spain, it is not entirely unheard of elsewhere. Similar instances, such as the birth of green Labrador puppies in England back in 2012, have been documented, though the green hue typically fades after a brief period, leaving behind a curious tale to ponder.
